James Davis Kelly Sr. was born on June 19, 1930 to the late Deacon Frank Kelly Sr. and Lucy Callens-Kelly in Marion Junction, Alabama. He departed peacefully at home on August 24, 2020 in Selma, Alabama. He inherited a rich legacy of faith and was raised in a Christian home. He confessed Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Dallas County School System. He left home and relocated to Newark, New Jersey. He was a member of Overcome Baptist Church in Newark and served as an usher. He worked for Federal Pacific and the City of Newark,New Jersey for over 40 years until he retired. He later moved back to his roots to live with his sister Minister Annie K. Cunningham in Selma, Alabama and attended West Trinity Baptist Church for the past seven years until his death. He was preceded in death by his two wives Daisy Cleveland Kelly McQueen and Catherine Kelly. He leaves to cherish his memories nine children: James Kelly, Jr. (Billie), Newark, NJ; Lindia Kelly-Stroman (Roye) Capitol Heights, MD; Matthew Kelly (Berdie) Newark, NJ; Joann Kelly, Selma, AL; Ruby Nell Watts (KC) Selma, AL; LoGrand Lee, Selma, AL; Dale Sigh, Lakewood, WA; Fredrick Kelly (Sheri) Spanaway, WA; Dr. Calvin Kelly (Stacy) Austin, TX. Grands and Godchildren Three sisters Mary K. Sewell Montgomery, AL; Minister Annie Cunningham Selma, AL; Violet Kennon Chesapeake, VA; three brothers-in-law Rev. Willie Hobbs, Sr. Selma, AL; Albert Hatcher, Sr. Selma, AL; James Cleveland Selma, AL; four sisters-in-law Marzella Sewell Atlanta, GA; Ruby Burns (Robert) Selma, AL; Berthina Burns Newport News, VA; Glouvester Cleveland, Detroit, MI, Annie Cleveland, Selma, AL and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins , other relatives and friends
